Ulrichsweb Upgrade

Ulrichsweb will be unavailable between 12 noon and 4 p.m. for upgrading on 2/11/2011.

Enhancements include
  • The name of the library account the user is accessing
  • Additional language localization (Korean and Dutch)
  • Enhanced display of Online Availability by provider and database
  • Easier retrieval of personal My Ulrich's login credentials

EBSCOhost Enhancements

EBSCOhost has announced the following enhancements:
  • Additional Authorities Available in Related Information, for example, Related Business Videos and Company Information.
  • MP3 Downloads are available for content that supports the Text-to-Speech function, from the Detailed Record view.
  • The Date Slider reflects the Result List date range unless manually adjusted by the user. Changes made to the Date Slider are sticky--its usage is reflected in the breadbox as a limiter, and in Search History.
  • Branding is available for the bottom of a Detail Record, when enabled in EBSCOadmin from the Add Branding or the Modify Branding screen.
  • Citations 2010 features the addition of the Harvard and new APA (6th edition) formats.
  • Minimum Browser Requirements have changed, and Internet Explorer 6.0 support will cease as of January 2011. See the updated minimum browser requirements in this FAQ.

JSTOR Update

JSTOR announced platform update, including both new and upgraded features.

New features:
  • A wider range of content formats, including full-text HTML for some journals and downloadable PDFs for all current journal issues
  • Multimedia files for some journals
  • New personalization features, including the ability to register for Table of Contents (TOC) emails and alerts when new content matches saved search terms
  • New informational pages for the titles participating in the Current Scholarship Program
Upgrades:
  • Article citation information will reside within the “View Citation” overlay
  • The “Collections at your institution” page will list licensed Archive Collections and licensed CSP titles. Please note that the export of an institution-specific holdings file will no longer be accessible from this page, but may be requested by contacting support@jstor.org

IBISWorld is now available as part of the electronic resources collection at Owens Library. "IBISWorld provides thoroughly researched, accurate and current economic, demographic and government data on businesses in over 700 industries."
